Floral skirt

Well, my first intention was to sew this cute dotted one-piece dress from"Simple Chic" book.
But, this pattern and floral fabric I have chosen, plus flounce around the neck… NO, NO, NO!!!That was complete disaster. Something between housedress and apron for ten year old girl. And that's not me. :) I am 47 grown up woman. (Well, I am trying to be grown up).
So, only thing I could do with this already cut fabric is to make simple pencil skirt. The pattern I had already tried out for this skirt. Burda Style: 1/2013 model 124
Fabric: quilting cotton
Simple, easy and fast. Nothing spectacular, but the fabric is saved.
What have I learned?
I have to review my dressing style.
I must stop buying floral, colorful crazy fabrics.
I must stop choosing infantile patterns.
I'm not Little Red Riding Hood!

Black and white tulip skirt

One more skirt. :)
Fabric: middle weight cotton with lycra.
Burda introduction for this pattern is: "This narrow silhouette skirt is one a jet-setter would wear in the sixties. It sits at natural waist and has waist pleats that give the skirt a nice tulip effect."
I am not a jet-setter, and I haven't achieved the sixties look with choice of fabric and the skirt length. My skirt is 10 cm longer and has fifties look which I prefer more. I am so pleased with this skirt. I’m sure I'll wear it a lot this summer.

The necklace that you can see in the photos I made for my Etsy shop.
Work in progress: crochet border for the dress.
