Ten years blog anniversary

Today is ten years since I began to write a sewing blog. My original intention with  writing the blog was to practice my English and document the things I make, sew....Over those ten years there have been many successful and unsuccessful creations. I learned which patterns fit my figure. I have found that I mostly like to sew 50s style dresses, that I adore colorful prints of fabric, and that I mostly sew summer clothes. For this blog anniversary, I decided to highlight the most loved pieces I made in each of the past year.

 

Over the years, I have started posting travel photos as well. Lots of photos :) I find this a useful decision, because at any moment I have an insight into the most important information about a destination, and which sights remains to be seen, if I decide to visit it again.

The only plan for the next ten years of sewing is to sew less colorful patterned clothes. It will be a tough fight. I will document that path on the blog regularly, I hope.

Box-pleat midi skirt

This skirt I made back in spring and wore it a lot whole summer.
Fabric is thick enough so I hope it could be worn through the fall and winter with tights.

Gathered midi skirt

Full midi skirts are definitely my cup of tea, and I am so happy they are back in trend.
This time I opted for a gathered skirt inspired by Michael Kors creation:

It is easy and fast sewing and no need for pattern.
