Ten years blog anniversary
Today is ten years since I
began to write a sewing blog. My original intention with writing the blog was to practice
my English and document the things I make, sew....Over those ten years there have
been many successful and unsuccessful creations. I learned which patterns fit
my figure. I have found that I mostly like to sew 50s style dresses, that I
adore colorful prints of fabric, and that I mostly sew summer clothes. For this blog anniversary, I
decided to highlight the most loved pieces I made in each of the past
year.
Over the years, I have
started posting travel photos as well. Lots of photos :) I find this a useful
decision, because at any moment I have an insight into the most important
information about a destination, and which sights remains to be seen, if I
decide to visit it again.
The only plan for the next ten
years of sewing is to sew less colorful patterned clothes. It will be a tough fight. I will document that path on
the blog regularly, I hope.

Ottavio Missoni-Master of Colors
Last night I was at the
opening of the exhibition of drawings, graphics and tapestries of the world-renowned
fashion designer and artist Ottavio Missoni.
One of the interesting facts is that he was born here in
Dubrovnik.
As the title of exhibition says he is the master of colors, but also
designer, artist, top athlete and businessman at the same time.
So, the exhibition is divided
into three parts. It shows Missoni as an artist, businessman, and athlete.
It was an enjoyable
and inspiring evening.

Bye-Bye 2009!
*Previous year had finally ended, and I am glad. It was one of hardest years. Mostly I was ill. Last three months I was on four different antibiotics. So, I entered the New Year with new antibiotics and one more sore throat. Thankfully this is not a dangerous illness, but I am totally exhausted. I lost some weight, and that is not good. Now I hope that the new antibiotic will stop bacterial infection. I try to eat better and rest more.
*I did not sew much in previous year. But writing this blog and taking photos of finished garments helped me a lot. Thanks to those photos, I noticed every mistake I have made, and realized that I have to make some changes in my style. Photos are cruel more than mirrors.
*I have many plans in new year. With better health and little luck I hope I'll realize them all. I plan to crochet and sew more, walk to the beach more, swim and enjoy the sun. I have some plans for selling my jewelry, bags and other stuff I make. A lot of plans, but I will go step by step. (I have to show you one dress I have finished last year, but I am not capable for photo shooting, yet.)
*Since I started blogging in June last year, I feel really welcome in this sewing-blogging world. So, I want to thank you dear readers for your support and comments. I did not leave a lot of comments on other blogs (This is a matter of my knowledge of English), but I read them all, and I admire your skills. One of my New Year decisions is to hang out with you more.
Wish you wonderful, healthy, happy 2010!

Welcome
Hello and welcome to Lina's Land.
This is my virtual land, the place where I can create, dream and play.
In real world I am a mother of one teenage boy and wife of one middle-age husband.
I live in beautiful town Dubrovnik at the Adriatic coast. I love to sew, crochet, bake cakes… I love to make things.
This blog will be about sewing, crochet, fashion and other things I love. I hope it will help me to organize all my "creative" projects. And of course, helps me to improve my English.
Till then I will let pictures to speak for me.
