Houndstooth Wiggle Dress

And finally last dress from my summer "collection" is this easy to sew Wiggle dress.
I have made a wearable muslin just to test free pattern from Sew Magazine site. Next time have to make it in fabric with some stretch. It will definitely help in wiggling.
Fabric: Houndstooth cotton print
Pattern: Wiggle dress designed by Amanda Walker

Gingham and polka dots

This is one more dress from my summer sewing.
The pattern I have already used for this dress three years ago. I couldn't pass gingham trend, but this time with polka dots. More is more.
Fabric: Polyester organdy lined with black batiste
Pattern: Burda 3/2009-103 original is a tunic pattern
Alterations: Like last time, added length to the tunic (pattern) and made front and back yoke from black cotton fabric.

Sew many dresses....

After lots of planning and few patterns testing (here, here, here, here, here) from the book "Sew Many Dresses, Sew Little Time"-the winning combination for me is basic bodice pattern and dirndl or box-pleat skirt. So this summer I have made three dresses from the book.
First is blue floral poplin dress. Lovely, light, summer, comfortable dress.
Pattern: Basic bodice and gathered skirt
Fabric: cotton poplin
Second dress: 50’s vibe, white with abstract print
Pattern: Basic bodice and box-pleat skirt
Fabric: stretch cotton sateen
Who could resist the flamingos this year? I couldn't. Funny pink flamingo dress.
Pattern: Basic bodice with few random pleats made at the skirt.

Fabric: stretch cotton sateen
