Travel:Italy-Pisa and Lucca

Our visit to Pisa  included only touring Piazza dei Miracoli.
Square of Miracles is architectural complexes composed of  the Cathedral, the Baptistery, the Bell or Leaning Tower and the Monumental Churchyard.

Indeed, this beautiful architectural composition of white marble on the green grass surface is miraculous.

The Duomo -the medieval cathedral dedicated to St. Mary of the Assumption.

The pulpit by Giovanni Pisano.

The Baptistery -dedicated to St. John the Baptist. It is the largest baptistery in Italy.

Baptistry font by Guido Bigarelli da Como.
Pulpit by Nicola Pisano.

The campanile (bell tower)- commonly known as the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
There are 296 steps leading to the top of the tower.

The Camposanto Monumentale (Monumental Cemetery)- also known as Campo Santo or Camposanto Vecchio (Old Cemetery)
Roman sculptures and sarcophagi.
Tombs are under the arcades.

                                 Lucca

For a tour of Lucca we had a little time. Just an hour, to drinking cappuccino and photograph a couple of city landmarks.
Intact Renaissance-era city walls.
Duomo di San Martino: St Martin's Cathedral
San Michele in Foro: Romanesque church

We still have a lot to visit, one day when we get back to Tuscany. Our plan for next visit are museums, galleries and more traditional Tuscan food. :)
