This is a really simple beanie pattern for beginners. With different flower
embellishment each beanie will be unique and special. For more flower patterns look here.
You can add a pin at the back of flower so you  can replace it.
The flower can be made in color of scarf or gloves.
With some beads for festive and sparkly look.

Thank you so much for this wonderful pattern, it was exactly what I was looking for. I tried looking for the pattern for the white flower, but I couldn't find the right one on the japanese site. Could you please point me in the right direction? Thank you. :)

I don't understand when you say do something 9 times. You don't make it clear if you mean rows or what.

In round 3,4,5 and 6 you have to repeat combination of stitches written between two stars *-* (colored green) 9 times.

Does it matter how many stitches I make for this pattern's magic circle other than if I make less it makes the hole at the top smaller?

Does it matter how many stitches you make in your magic circle? The pattern doesn't mention how many to make.

The first round is a number of stitches in magic loop.

Is the pattern using UK /AUS stitches or US? And is the yarn UK bulky or US bulky- I think there is a difference but as I'm new to crochet I'm not sure.

The pattern is using US stitches. Unfortunately I don't know the difference between UK bulky and US bulky yarn. :)
This beanie is made with Croatian yarn - Marija which is in category bulky. Here you can find exemplar:

Maybe this will help. :)
