Did I said, in my last post, that I haven't much opportunities to wear my hats and scarves here in Dubrovnik.

Well, I was sooo wrong. It was  snowing last night. Only 2cm of snow, but cold enough for accessories fashion show. :)

Blue scarf and beret

This is  a scarf  I knitted in December before my trip to Zagreb.
Here in Dubrovnik  I  have not much opportunities to wear hats and scarves.
So,the trip was great opportunity for me  to wear all  scarves,hats and berets I have. And of course to show some new.
The pattern is Easy Lace Stole by Arlene's World of Lace and it is available as a free Ravelry download.
Measurements: 25cm wide and 180cm long.
Needles size: 5mm
Yarn : (100g) 2 balls of Sportivo "Teteks AD"-Tetovo  (50g-210m)

I also made  matching beret. Pattern for beret is the easiest I know.

I added some flowers and embellished them with silver seed beads.
Hook size: 4mm

It was a quick project and I was so happy wearing  new scarf and beret, even it was not cold as I expected.

Well, I suppose, I have to apologize for neglecting my blog and few readers, almost a year.
It was a very busy year for me.Among day work and complete reconstruction of our apartment, moving to another apartment and then back home, I had no time for sewing.So, I thought there isn't reason to blog. I wasn't right.
My first intention was to practice English (writing), and after tree years I am still bad writer.
So, from today I will write whatever I want and know.
I hope, of course, with minimum mistakes.

Today I made two Treasury lists for Etsy. Few gift ideas for Valentine's Day.
For her, soft, cozy, cute pink accessories.

For him,  more serious, but beautiful.

Patchwork intermezzo

I really don't know what happened to my sewing mood. After few summer projects I didn't sew anything for myself. No inspiration, no sewing.

So, for this fall/winter season zero finished garments. Now, I'll wait until spring. There are few nice patterns in February Burda. (Maybe they will inspire me.)

In meanwhile I do patchwork.

A year ago I become a member of  Patchwork club, the first and only one here in Croatia.

I have started with simple small projects.

Hola Señorita

While everyone is planning and preparing winter wardrobe, I am still in summer mood.

This is one of few pieces  I have sewed this summer.

Simple, beautiful, exotic blouse in Carmen style. 

Well I know, I'm not a Carmen, but who cares.

Fabric used: white embroidered cotton .

No alterations.Flounces are finished with 3-thread rolled hem.

Frilled one-piece dress

Finally post after two months.

One of my New Year goals was to spend more time walking,swimming and resting.So, I turned all my blogging time in  beach time.I really enjoyed this summer.I made some jewelery,sewed few pieces and read some books.Now I have to catch up so much in this blog world.There was a lot of sewing,new baby,new pets...a lot of posts to read.

First of all I'll show you few pieces I made tree months ago.

This frilled one-piece dress I have prepared  for  my second exhibition opening.

The color of the dress  was chosen to match the jewelry color I have exhibited.LOL

And the exhibited bag was in same style.LOL

So here it is, comfortable little summer dress.

Fabric:turquoise linen/cotton blend

I'm so satisfied with this pattern.

I like this tunic version,too.

Simple pull over blouse

From sewing book Simple Chic, by Machiko Kayaki.

This is the easiest top pattern I ever seen and used.Simple and perfect for beginners.

This pattern is perfect for reversible tops or for sewing with lace.

The fabric I used is light cotton with silver glitter decoration.The fabric is little bit transparent so I lined the blouse with cheesecloth.I find that cheesecloth is very practical for lining summer garments.

The top is"dartless", so if you need bust darts you have to add them or forget this pattern.I do not have bust darts problem.:)

To embellish the top I made this transparent,delicate,organza fabric rose.

Nostalgic dress

The next project from book Simple Chic, by Machiko Kayaki is this cute nostalgic dress.

I really love the way it turned out.

Used fabric: dark blue rayon

Changes I made:cut about 15cm from the skirt length(it was almost maxi dress) added 2cm to the bodice length and sewed the belt lower.

The lace around neckline gives the romantic and vintage look,and I like it.

Thursday night was the opening of ULIPUD exhibition. (The Association of Fine and Applied artists of Dubrovnik)

Bateau neckline top

Oh yes, I am alive! Not in perfect condition considering the years, but still alive. LOL 

Still trying to recover from this terrible winter. But, that is not a reason why I'm not blogging for more than two months. I was so busy.

After a year and a half struggle to sell my crocheted jewelry and bags on Etsy, I finally decided to try something different. I offered my jewelry to local souvenir and gift shops, and that was successful. Since I live in most popular tourist city in Croatia, and I can for sure say, very well known in whole world- selling "at home" was something expected, and I don't know why I didn't try it before. But, it's never too late.

I have been making handbags and jewelry for days, and totally limited access to the internet.

I was in a hurry,  didn't take pictures of most things I made, but I am so happy that I finished everything.

I even manage to sew something for myself.

That is simple raglan sleeves top with the bateau neckline from February Burda.

Fabric: Soft gray knit wool and something blend with animal print.

Alterations: Shortened the sleeves and top length.

I love it! Now, I have two TNT patterns for two tops with the bateau neckline. This one with raglan sleeves and one with set-in sleeves I made last year.
