Big pumpkin

Did I said in my previous post: I hope I will not become a pumpkin? Well, I am a pumpkin, big orange pumpkin.
I moved to Zagreb a month ago, and haven't organized my sewing place yet. So, I'm crocheting these days.

The pattern is from Japanese book.

The yarn is from my stash: Marina by Dalmatinka (Sport / 5 ply) 100% Cotton.

Hook size: 3mm

No waist dress

Well, I know the fall is already here, but I have to show you one more dress I have sewn month ago. This is one more easy, simple and cheap project. Since I got few kilos in past four months I am not wearing anything with accentuated waist. It seems that this season the waist is must have, so in that case I have to go on a diet.Well, I have never had hourglass body, but now I become an apple. I hope I will not become a pumpkin.:) So, until I loss few kilos, no waist dresses are my choice.

This pattern I have already used for this dress .

It is self drafted pattern, but at Burda Style 6/2011 you have similar.

Used fabric: chiffon lined with cheesecloth.

Easy,cheap and quick

Since I haven't sew garments for a long time I decided to start with something quick and easy. Probably most of you  sewed this lovely maxi dress from Mimi's tutorial.

I used rayon fabric from my stash, and  I am so satisfied with the result.

Maybe next summer I will repeat this pattern with some knitted fabric.

I  also made multi strand crocheted necklace from brown cotton thread and wooden beads.

This is easiest, cheapest and quickest outfit I ever had.

Ottavio Missoni-Master of Colors

Last night I was at the opening of the exhibition of drawings, graphics and tapestries of the world-renowned fashion designer and artist Ottavio Missoni. 

One of the  interesting facts is that he was born here in Dubrovnik. 

As the title of exhibition says he is the master of colors, but also designer, artist, top athlete and businessman at the same time.

So, the exhibition is divided into three parts. It shows Missoni as an artist, businessman, and athlete.

 

 

 It was an enjoyable and inspiring evening.

Bye bye quilting

Here they are, two pillow cases and one table topper I had started last year, before apartment renovation.

I think they will be my last patchwork projects for a long time. One day when I get grandchildren I will probably do quilts, but till that day, bye bye quilting. I have to sew and crochet so many wearable things.

I am so angry at myself, because I haven't sewed anything for myself in the last year. :(

Yes, I'm in a selfish mood. :)

Bracelets

I love bracelets, but I don't wear them because I have narrow wrist.Each bracelet I have,  looks funny on my hand.Therefore,I haven't made bracelets.

Lately they are very popular, so I decided to make a few for my Etsy shop.

Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

Did I said, in my last post, that I haven't much opportunities to wear my hats and scarves here in Dubrovnik.

Well, I was sooo wrong. It was  snowing last night. Only 2cm of snow, but cold enough for accessories fashion show. :)

Blue scarf and beret

This is  a scarf  I knitted in December before my trip to Zagreb.
Here in Dubrovnik  I  have not much opportunities to wear hats and scarves.
So,the trip was great opportunity for me  to wear all  scarves,hats and berets I have. And of course to show some new.
The pattern is Easy Lace Stole by Arlene's World of Lace and it is available as a free Ravelry download.
Measurements: 25cm wide and 180cm long.
Needles size: 5mm
Yarn : (100g) 2 balls of Sportivo "Teteks AD"-Tetovo  (50g-210m)

I also made  matching beret. Pattern for beret is the easiest I know.

I added some flowers and embellished them with silver seed beads.
Hook size: 4mm

It was a quick project and I was so happy wearing  new scarf and beret, even it was not cold as I expected.

See The World Through Pink Glasses

Well, I suppose, I have to apologize for neglecting my blog and few readers, almost a year.
It was a very busy year for me.Among day work and complete reconstruction of our apartment, moving to another apartment and then back home, I had no time for sewing.So, I thought there isn't reason to blog. I wasn't right.
My first intention was to practice English (writing), and after tree years I am still bad writer.
So, from today I will write whatever I want and know.
I hope, of course, with minimum mistakes.
